Lets start with the name Nauta Lot a Stitches, pronounced "naw-t-uh" "laat" "uh" "sti-chuhz".
Cross stitch and needlepoint is the art of stabbing something 100,000 times in order to relax.... Stitching can help in so many ways from healing the mind or body to distracting and calming the mind from everyday life. Such a wonderful craft that is really simple to learn and yet can produce such beautiful results.
I have been stitching on and off since I was very young and have wanted to start a blog or tutorial about different aspects of stitching. Both of my grandparents, my mother and my siblings are crafty... we have a family of designers and creativity. I can tell you from experience that stitching has helped me get through some rough times! Back in 2011 I was diagnosed with GBS (Guillain-Barre (gee-YAH-buh-RAY) syndrome), although the virus is gone, I had to re-learn to walk, talk and eat all over again. Since all of those activities take time to regain, I had some time to stitch (though very slowly as just holding a needle with thread was tough). Then I graduated college, moved to a new state, and started a new career on night shift. I have to tell you working from 5pm to 6am 3-4 days a week is great for gaming and stitching, but not for making friends. After doing a little searching, I found a needlework guild in my area. Since then they have helped me grow in so many ways and I have started co-leading one of the interest groups.
